It’s been a while since I have written a blog post here. I was really thinking (soooo hard) about what I should write, there is a loooot that I can write about and I get confused (haha. ππ), but in God’s time I’ll be able to write ’em all. teehee.
This blog post is reallyyyyy special.
I grew up with three older brothers. Biologically, I never I had an “ate”, but throughout the years, I got the chance to have a lot of big sister figuresΒ in my life, at church at school and from in laws! Woohoo! When I was still little, it didn’t matter that much that I didn’t have a big sister, I have three awesome bros who loves me, taught me sports, whom I know will always be there for me (even if I’m not a baby anymore. haha).
But as I grew up to my teens, going through puberty, peer pressure and boy concerns (I woundn’t say those are problems for reasons that are not so obvious HAHAHA.Β πππ) I have to admit there we A LOT of times when I wished I had a sister.
Brothers are awesome because they are (I cannot deny) stronger both physically and emotionally (not necessarily spiritually, so yeah. hahahah). They have other “manly”Β (ashushu) ways of disciplining you and they also have awesome logical insights that will be of use to us in the future. All of the sports I play were taught by my dad and my brothers. We all play basketball, which is one of the best things I love to do when I was still in high school and college. We also play badminton as a family and bowling also, sometimes (but I never really liked bowling at first. Oops). But there is just something brothers can’t offer little sisters and thats the sweet comforting embrace of a Big Sister.Β ππ
Big sisters are awesome because of a couple reasons I wrote below, haha. Here it goes!
First of all, big sisters can relate to PMS. HAHA.Β π
As a Christ committed follower, even with PMS, we ladies need to always be reminded not to react in stressful situations (or in any situation haha) even when we are undergoing PMS. It is usually an excuse that we, ladies (yeah, me too) make to justify our ugly reactions to situations and certain mood swings. PMS or not we are called to LOVE and to serve others. πΒ In Proverbs 31:26 it says,Β “She opens her mouth with wisdom,Β and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” The 31st chapter of proverbs is very famous for showcasing characters Godly women possess.Β

Buuuut, being kind and loving during this time of the month is soooo noooot easy.Β πΆπΆ
For me, my awesome big sisters help remind me to still show Christ-like behavior despite undergoing PMS and I think they are reliable because, uhm, yeah, THEY KNOW HOW IT FEELS (I need to stress this part. hahaΒ π€£π€£). Undergoing PMS is not easy but we are not meant to deal with it alone. By God’s grace, moment by moment we should surrender it to the Lord. Big sisters can help pray for us and we can pray for them too. Because our struggles don’t really go away after we surrender them to the Lord once, we should constantly surrender it to the Lord (as I said earlier) moment by moment. Like what the ancient one in the movie Doctor Strange said, “We never lose our demons, we only learn to live above them.”Β ππ»ππ»
“She opens her mouth with wisdom,Β and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” -Proverbs 31:26
Secondly, no matter how faaaar or busy big sisters are, they will still make time for you.Β πππππ
Distance shouldn’t be an issue. We are very blessed today, in this generation that we have social media and cellphones. Everybody is just one text/chat away. And if you think that you don’t talk with your big sisters that much, well, maybe you need to do a little effort, like, send them a text once in a while, or maybe a sticker or an emoji or something (it doesn’t take that much time and effort, we can do zis! ππΌππΌππΌ).
Big sisters can also be busy at times, they have their own hobbies, their own jobs, but they are just so awesome that they still have time to minister, care and be a big sister to all the little sissies out there (like me! haha ππ).
“…I have learned from them, to continually grow through the mistakes and to always remember that God can use all the circumstances that happen in our lives, whether good or bad, to mold us to be the person He wants us to be.”
Meet some of the awesome big sisters I have in my life:

And because big sisters are soooo awesome, they have become my role models. All of them aren’t perfect, they all still have struggles and things they need to improve on, but they learned, eventually, to been honest about it and by God’s grace, dealt with it and contially surrendering it to the Lord. And that is the most important thing I have learned from them, to continually grow through the mistakes and to always remember that God can use all the circumstances that happen in our lives, whether good or bad, to mold us to be the person He wants us to be ππ
And because of this,Β I want to be a big sister to little sissies around me too!Β
Toodles!
Love,
Nenen.Β π
